In order to improve the efficiency of plasma opening switches in compact pulsed accelerators, an analysis of the results obtained in the previous experiments of operating electron accelerators with a plasma opening switch is carried out, and research of erosion-type plasma guns with a pulsed-periodic gas-metal injection is presented. For service term prolongation of structural materials in accelerating and plasma technology, the method of microplasma oxidation of Al and Ti samples has been investigated. The main scientific results are as follows: An analysis of experimental data, obtained in DI-2 accelerator that based on typical current and voltage oscillograms at various time intervals between switching on the plasma guns and the main pulsed current generator, was carried out. Optimal regimes for the plasma guns operation have been determined, and their design has been improved. An analysis of DIN-2K accelerator experiments at use of the dielectric barrier in the vacuum diode was carried out. It is shown virtual cathode formation that can generate SHF radiation. After microplasma oxidation process the micro- and nanohardnesses for coatings of Al and Ti samples were determined. The appearance of corundum coating with a high degree of adhesion to aluminum has been obtained. A morphological surface analysis of aluminium samples was carried out.
