M. Vysotsky popup.description2 Study object: structure of forest use and wood production / consumption. Aim of the study: to develop a methodological toolkit for forecasting analysis and to provide a multivariate forecast of production/consumption of timber in Ukraine under different scenarios of the country's economy and forestry development. Methodology of the study: economic-mathematical and statistical methods; collection, grouping and generalization of forest mensuration/inventory and economic information on harvesting and sale of timber and other forest resources; application of scenario approach and methods of multivariate prognostic analysis. The methodology of German researchers for modeling raw wood balance at the national level has been worked out. A data matrix has been developed for the model of timber circulation in Ukraine at various stages of the production process. The matrix displays the balance of the wood sources and directions of the wood consumption. The algorithm of the forecast model for the wood production and consumption balance was developed based on the methodical approach of the inter-industry balance; input-output tables were calculated.
