Musical folklore of Central and Eastern Polissia" is based on the methodology of structural-typological (paradigmatic) analysis of musical-ethnographic features of different regions of Ukraine, developed by doctor of art history, corresponding member of NAMU S.Y. Hrytsia - the initiator of the project "Regional-genre anthology of Ukrainian musical folklore" and tested by her students and followers. The goal of the project "Regional Genre Anthology of Ukrainian Musical Folklore" is the publication of another volume "Musical Folklore of Central and Eastern Polissia" in two books as a component part of the main Compendium of the most characteristic samples of musical (song, instrumental and kobzar-lyrnytsky) folklore of Ukraine. The publication is a continuation of the prepared 2016- 2018 project "Musical Folklore of Volyn and Western Polissia", and therefore also relevant projects from other regions of Ukraine. The musical and intonation base of the project "Musical Folklore of Central and Eastern Polissia" became the publications of sheet music transcriptions of song and instrumental music of the specified region from the editions of the XIX - XXI centuries, materials from the Scientific archival funds of manuscripts and phonorecords of the IMFE named after M.T. of the Ryl National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine and transcriptions of modern ethnomusicologists who worked in this region during the late 20th - early 21st centuries. One of the most important tasks of the planning theme is the coordination of efforts of various state organizations and owners of personal phonogram archives to fill the so-called "white spots" on the map of the anthology of folklore samples of the studied area of Polissia.
