The energy potential of shallow aquifers of Ukraine was determined, which is 2.7 million tpu. per year. A study of the effectiveness of the use of compression heat pumps for heating and cooling of premises with the help of fan coils was conducted. The effectiveness of the application of sorption heat pumps and thermoelectric generators using geothermal energy sources was determined, which showed the expediency of constructing autonomous Geothermal Power Plants with a capacity of 10-100 kW based on individual geothermal wells. The construction of a pilot geothermal power plant with a capacity of 5 MW on the territory of a watered gas field (Kachanovsky field, Sumy region) has been substantiated.
