The purpose of the work is to determine the effect of water on the stability of the rocks containing the coal seam, and the expediency of applying pre-moistening of coal in the massif under the conditions of SE "Coal Company Krasnolimanska". Research methods – generalization and analysis of the results of water injection into analog lavas, methods of mathematics. statistics, calculations according to standard methods. As a result of the research, an analysis of the mining and technical conditions of working out the m24 coal seam of SE "Coal Company Krasnolimanska", experimental injection of water into the lava and air dust measurements was performed. A conclusion has been drawn on the expediency of using coal pre-moistening in the massif.
