Another important object was the "blood" diamonds of Russia and the corresponding improvement of the training course necessary for their coverage. The purpose of the work is to increase the level of providing expert and educational services of the DGCU, to promote the development of a socially responsible diamond business in Ukraine through professional gemological education. The research method is literary and analytical. An analytical review of foreign diamond training courses of the leading gemological organizations of America, Europe, Asia, Africa, their content, equipment and used methods recommended by international standards CIBJO and ISO, as well as a review of the technical base of these organizations in the field of diamond examination, was performed. The own task of the SGCU regarding the improvement of the training course of the SGCU on diamonds in accordance with the best international experience and the development of the material and technical base of expert work with diamonds has been substantiated and formulated. The draft of the new edition of the training manual "Grading and expert evaluation of diamonds" for the training course of the same name has been prepared. The content and teaching methods of this course have been updated.
