The purpose of research is to define and substantiate approaches to policy formulation, development and application of university social responsibility mechanisms in Ukrainian universities. The significance of research is determined by examination and summing up of Ukrainian and international experience in policy formation and implementation, which will allow to: 1) draw attention of academic and expert communities to the enhancement of university social mission under hostilities and post-war recovery; 2) identify typical approaches to university social responsibility implementation during wartime and post-war recovery, universities’ updated functions and objectives as a response to war challenges; 3) assess the capacity of Ukrainian universities to implement social responsibility and possible levels (national, local, institutional) of its realization during wartime and post-war recovery; 4) outline the pool of university potential stakeholders and partners, identify ways and means to augment links between university and society and engage communities into university social initiatives; 5) facilitate inter-university discourse on the possibility of social innovations and social entrepreneurship development, their dissemination and implementation in different spheres of life.
