The purpose of the research work is to reveal the main regularities of the methods of teaching Romance and Germanic languages and to study their communicative and pragmatic aspects. Scientific novelty of the results: a systematic, holistic, scientifically grounded description of the development of foreign language teaching methods in Ukraine and its integration processes into the European space are presented. In addition, the methodological system is described and theoretical and methodological guidelines for the training of foreign language specialists are submitted; the prospects for further development of methods and didactics in higher pedagogical education institutions are substantiated. The significance and practical application of the results is that the obtained results made it possible to determine the prospects for the functioning of the system of pedagogical education in the field of foreign languages teaching, taking into account modern social needs; to highlight the state of development of theoretical research; to reveal the possibilities of acquiring practical skills during internships at lyceums and gymnasiums.
