I. Mechnikov National University popup.description2 Thirty bacterial strains have been isolated from different Black Sea biotops: water, soil an hydrobionts. Screening of isolates for the ability to produce surface-active substances (biosurfactants) using the drop-collapse test showed that the largest number of surface-active compounds was synthesized by bacteria isolated from the surface of mussel flaps. Isolated strains were identified as Pseudomonas aeruginosa (three strains М1, М3 та М4), Alcaligenes faecalis М1, Bacillus subtilis МС3 and Bacillus atrophaeus МН4.For their mono- and co-cultivation in hree types of cultures (suspension, biofilm and dense) 45 samples of secondary metabolites were obtained. Technological schemes for obtaining biosurfactants were developed and the efficiency of biosurfactant synthesis under different conditions of cultivation of marine bacteria was evaluated. It was shown that biosurfactants synthesized by co-cultures of marine bacteria exhibit higher antimicrobial and anti-biofilm activity compared to samples of the corresponding monocultures. The highest level of synthesis of glycolipid biosurfactants and their emulsifying activity was registered in co-cultures Bacillus subtilis МС3 with Pseudomonas aeruginosa М1 and Alcaligenes faecalis 23 samples of total extracts of secondary metabolites isolated from mono- and co-cultures of marine bacteria were tested for antitumor activity. It was established that at a concentration of 250 and 500 μg/ml, most of them inhibit the growth of hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC) and cholangiocarcinoma (CCA) cells in mice in vitro. Secondary metabolites of the co-cultures showed a higher level of antitumor activity and were effective at lower concentrations: 125, and some at 62.5 μg/mlThe most significant scientific results are the obtained evidence of the activation of silent genes for the synthesis of secondary metabolites by marine bacteria.
