The problems of the computation of the number of cycles before failure due to classical (multicycle) fatigue in cases of: prismatic rods under uniaxial asymmetric tension-compression; thin-walled cylindrical shells under combined loading of uniaxial tension-compression and torsion; thin-walled walled cylindrical shells under combined loading of bending and torsion have been solved. The solutions are based on the concepts of equivalent stresses for which structure follows the hypothesis of: the existence of unique isochronous diagrams of limiting stresses using the power transcendental functions the classical failure criteria. The criterion of maximum normal stresses, the criterion of maximum tangential stresses, and the criterion of the specific strain energy due to distortion were used as classical failure criteria.
