The object of research is droughts, large-scale atmospheric circulation; meteorological observations of air temperature, precipitation, humidity, components of the radiation regime for 1991-2020 on the territory of Ukraine. The purpose of the work is to analyze the conditions for the occurrence of droughts in the territory of Ukraine in recent decades and to calculate the forecast for the next decade. According to the method of long-term weather forecast of UHMІ; creation of a drought forecast scheme for the next ten years, using the AC climate model (atmospheric circulation), the "drought-moisture" criterion of V. Martazinova, the "Etalon" method of classification of meteorological fields. The work was carried out at the scientific level. A methodology for predicting droughts with a monthly advance and a model for forecasting the state of droughts in the next decade (until 2030), distribution of vulnerable areas in the next decades on the territory of Ukraine, were obtained. The current state of the radiation regime of Ukraine and its changes since 1991 have been studied. An increase in the aridity of atmospheric processes since the beginning of the 21st century has been revealed, which is consistent with an increase in direct solar radiation and a decrease in scattered solar radiation on the territory of Ukraine. The relevance of the work is determined by changes in the global and, in particular, the regional climate of Ukraine, which is manifested, among other things, in the increase of negative ecological and economic consequences of atmospheric and soil droughts. The results can be implemented in the units of the UHMІ of the State Emergency Service of Ukraine for the operational service of users with meteorological, climatic, agrometeorological information.
