The first chapter examines the peculiarities of the management of small and medium-sized enterprises in Ukraine. The main directions of sustainable development of small and medium-sized enterprises in the near future have been determined, which include: concentration of efforts on the formation of acceptable macroeconomic conditions; adoption of laws defining the goals and objectives of small business policy; continued development of this policy at the local level; implementation of social policy, etc. The main problems of cooperation between small and large enterprises are identified, such as: the actual lack of outsourcing and subcontracting infrastructure; unsatisfactory self-organization; lack of trained engineering and management personnel; passivity and mutual mistrust; market instability, lack of long-term partnership. The second section of the report is devoted to the study of modern management approaches to increase the competitiveness of domestic enterprises. Establishing the type, nature and level of integration ties is an important component of the organizational support for the management of a business entity. The peculiarities of the application of horizontal, vertical and diversified integration for the unification of subjects of economic activity are considered. Peculiarities of the application of the process approach in the management of enterprises have been studied. The essence and types of business processes are considered. It was determined that the business process is a complex differentiated system that requires the application of organizational methods and techniques, is based on certain organizational principles and forms its own approach to managing the enterprise as a whole.
