Tymoshenka Institute of Mechanics of the National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine popup.description2 Within the framework of the geometrically nonlinear theory of layered shells in the quadratic approximation, the numerical research methodology of electrothermomechanical behavior and prediction of the durability of flexible viscoelastic shells of rotation with piezoelectric actuators and sensors under forced axisymmetric vibrations is presented. On the example of a circular plate with piezoelectric sensors for the most energy-intensive mode of flexural vibrations, the effect of geometric nonlinearity and heat exchange conditions on the frequency dependence of the amplitude of deflections of the flexural mode of axisymmetric vibrations and the temperature of dissipative heating is numerical investigated. Based on the assessment of the durability of an inelastic oscillating system on the permissible values of the maximum temperature of dissipative heating in linear and nonlinear formulations of the thermoviscoelasticity problem, the durability of the system's performance under mechanical loads exceeding the critical one is investigated. On the basis of finite element method, the numeral-analytical research methodology of the durability and electrothermomechanical behavior of three-dimensional inhomogeneous solids of revolution worked out from electroviscoelastic materials at forced vibrations was developed. Testing of the developed algorithms was conducted for the case of the layered cylindrical panels at different boundary conditions. The estimation of panels’ durability at extreme operating conditions is given, and the dependence of the time of the element working capacity from the value of the electric and mechanical loading and the conditions of heat exchange with the external environment was investigated. The methodology for calculating durability due to fatigue of thin-walled cylindrical shells under biaxial combined loading based on the concept of equivalent stresses using classical failure criteria is presented.
