The purpose of the research work is to optimize the management of passenger transportation by public transport in Ternopil MTG. Work methods - graphic, calculation, monographic, modeling, formalization. The generalized scientific result of the work is a study of the state of public transport in the Ternopil MTG and the identification of opportunities for optimizing budget funds in its management. The scientific novelty of the conducted research consists in the analysis and identification of shortcomings in the public transport system in Ternopil. The technical and economic effect consists in the proposed methodical and practical recommendations for the formation of demographic and economic forecasts of development in the Ternopil MTG and optimization of the transport system in the city. Implementation of the results of the NDR: The results of the study have practical value and are implemented in practice, in particular, the recommendations formulated by the authors aimed at optimizing the management of passenger transportation by public transport in TMTG in terms of saving the use of budget funds. In particular, recommended measures have been formed regarding the organization of new trolleybus routes and the design of route schemes with the construction of a contact network to connect the western and northwestern districts of the city with its center.
