It is substantiated that economic modernization is always a process in which land management measures are determinants of such modernization, which at the macroeconomic level are aimed at the regulation of land relations and the rational organization of the territory of administrative territorial units, and at the microeconomic level - the regulation of land relations and the rational organization of the territory business entities. It is substantiated that one of the modern challenges of the functioning of land management as an institutional determinant of economic modernization, and accordingly a prerequisite for modernization, is the system of land resource management and the optimization of management processes in the field of land relations. The analysis of institutional support for the transformation of land management in the process of economic modernization, based on the scientific, technical, production and management activities of state authorities, local self-government bodies, legal entities and individuals, which is carried out during land management, the content of land legislation in the part of land management, shows that , that the management system needs coordination with socio-economic and environmental challenges.
