Mechnikov National University popup.description2  The object of the study is the potential impact of the construction of the South Ukrainian wind power plant on biodiversity. The purpose of the work is to solve the problems of minimizing the negative impact on the fauna of the overall impact on the remains of little-transformed natural complexes of the Black Sea region. Bird counts were carried out by observations along road and walking routes, as well as at observation points. ×10 binoculars and a ×20-60 spyglass were used. During the survey of the territory of the planned South Ukrainian Wind Power Plant (SU WPP) in the winter of 2021/22, the presence of 54 species of birds belonging to 12 orders was recorded. The number of Passerine birds was the most represented (24 species, 41% of individuals from all registered birds), followed by Anseriformes (6 species, 34% of individuals). In terms of number, the number of Gruiformes was in third place (18% of population), represented by a one rather massive species (coot). The number of birds was quite high in the water area of the estuaries (more than 2,000 individuals), but insignificant in the area of the projected wind farm. Analysis of the situation at the time of the research showed a low level of impact of the construction of the wind farm on birds. The received information will allow planning further studies of the situation after the resumption of construction of the wind power plant.
