Improvements in the methods of scientific analysis and research of architectural environment objects, which should have specific qualities of complexity, dynamism, humanity and integrity, are proposed. The active use of design methods in the formation of the urban environment, increased attention to the level of equipment of urban areas, the design of residential and public environments, including a variety of both open and closed spaces, are investigated. Innovative approaches and methods have been developed to solve modern problems of education of architects and designers. This work is interdisciplinary and is related to urban planning, pedagogical research, as well as psychology, urban ecology and sociology. The recommendations of the work can be implemented in the development of projects for the formation of the urban environment and its objects, their structural elements, for dissertation research of an architectural and design nature, as well as for scientific developments on this topic. Methodological and methodical schemes for solving problems of preservation and improvement of urban architecture from the standpoint of humanization of the environment, ecologization and improvement of the functional structure are proposed.
