The main tasks are to determine and analyze the linguistic and methodological principles of teaching the English language and culture in a linguistic higher educational institution; to theoretically substantiate the feasibility of improving the content of future translators’ professional training taking into account world trends in approaches to teaching English; to develop and test advanced tools and methods of teaching English for practical use in a linguistic higher educational institution; to create a relevant base of manuals, textbooks and research works; to update the linguistic and methodological content of educational programs on the basis of the published scientific works. The advantage of the study is the usage of its results in the updated and improved educational programs, methodological recommendations and syllabi to provide effective teaching of the English language and culture in synergy at the linguistic university, which contributed to saving time when working with diverse lexical and grammatical content of linguistic disciplines. The research results are already used by students and teachers of Kyiv National Linguistic University in the process of learning and teaching English and other connected disciplines and courses.
