The structure of the surface complexes of the investigated model compounds of lignin, the ranges and products of their thermal transformations were established. The kinetic parameters (Tmax, n, E≠, ν0 and ΔS≠) of the formation of the main pyrolysis products (4-vinylguaiacol, guaiacol, phenol, cresol, naphthalene, methylnaphthalene, toluene, benzene, etc.) were calculated and probable mechanisms of their formation were proposed. It turned out that the main processes of catalytic pyrolysis of the studied model compounds of lignin are characterized by negative changes in the entropy of activation.
