New regularities of the diffusion process of adsorbed methane in coal have been established, taking into account the Volmer pore system. A technique has been developed that allows for the first time to determine the presence and conditions for the manifestation of skin effects during fluid injection into a coal bed under natural conditions and to obtain new fundamental insights into the pressure filtration of a fluid in a fractured-porous medium. New dependences of the change in the filtration parameters of the barrier pillars between the active and isolated fire areas on the thickness of the bed have been established.
