The purpose of the work is to clarify the current problems of research and teaching of the Korean language in the context of the direction of modern linguistic studies and the study of current issues of the political situation on the Korean Peninsula. Research methods: analysis and synthesis; descriptive, comparative and historical. As a result of the research, actual problems of research and teaching of the Korean language were revealed. A conceptual generalization was made that the teaching of the Korean language needs constant improvement, taking into account the current trends in the development of society. It has been proven that the Korean language is in constant development in accordance with the needs of society, and therefore, the teaching of the Korean language should be correlated with the needs of modern life. The factors due to which the conditions for increasing the efficiency of students' learning of various forms of language activity were revealed. It has been proven that the political development of Asian countries and the prospects for their unification are the object of close study by many researchers, leading Western, Asian and Ukrainian Oriental studies and political science centers. A conceptual generalization was made about the growing role of China as a mediator and catalyst for the enhanced continuation of negotiations on denuclearization and peace stabilization on the Korean Peninsula. The factors affecting the change in China's foreign policy towards the DPRK and the ROK are highlighted. The research is based on the previous work of the performers, and has significant scientific-theoretical, methodological and practical significance. The results of the study can be used by universities to teach Korean language courses, research, analytical and educational institutions in the field of Korean studies.
