Using the methods described in the literature (if necessary, with modifications of the methods), a number of experimental samples were obtained that present the composition of the reaction mixtures in the condensation reactions of ninhydrin or isatin with asymmetric 1,2-diaminobenzenes. The formation of isomers during these condensations was investigated using the HPLC method with mass spectrometric or UV detection. It was established that for cases of condensation with ninhydrin and isatin, the influence of individual substituents on the relative yield of isomers differs. Attempts were made to separate regio-isomeric indoloquinoxalines by the method of preparative column chromatography on silica gel, but due to low solubility and low chromatographic mobility, the yields of the process were negligible. Using the example of 6(9)-(morpholinomethyl)indoloquinoxaline, it was found that after the functionalization of the substituent, the difference in the chromatographic mobility of the isomers increases along with the solubility, which made it possible to isolate the isomerically pure product. QSAR methods revealed no correlation between the formation energies of individual isomers or electronic parameters of substituents and their yield. Product Description popup.authors Duma Hanna І.
