The work purpose – the development of scientifically based recommendations for modernization of gemological education, the main current programs updating, the design of new training courses system of different levels of complexity, professional development programs taking into account the latest trends in the development of gemological research and international practice of educational services in the field of gemology. Research methods – analysis and generalization of international experience in the field of gemological education, the development of updated scientific and methodological support of the Curriculum for the expert gemologists training. The scientific and methodological support of the specialized training course for expert gemologists in the direction of certification and expert appraisal of precious stones was improved: the tutorial "Certification and expert appraisal of precious stones " was developed, the second edition, revised and supplemented; the training course curriculum was updated; thematic plan and examination requirements were changed; the recommendations for training collection of precious stones updating have been prepared taking into account the latest trends in the development of gemological research and gemological study.
