The analysis of mineralogical, geochemical and petrographic information on the main types of natural stones from the deposits of Ukraine, their macroscopic and microscopic textural-structural and color features was carried out. The data on geochemical and physical-mechanical properties of natural stones, which are available in the register of proper and trade names, as well as in databases on consumer properties of natural stones, were analyzed. First of all, data from mineral research protocols during the search and exploration of natural stone deposits of Ukraine. The scientific information that was collected during the first intermediate stage of the NDNTR will allow the definition of a set of main identification features to create the basis of a unified accounting and information system of natural stone features for the formation of an interactive digital register of proper and trade names of stones from deposits of Ukraine.
