Verkin Institute for Low Temperature Physics and Engineering of the National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine popup.description2 The purposeful search for real crystalline compounds in which the spin-liquid Kitaev state can be realized and their study has recently been one of the urgent problems of solid-state physics and magnetism. The perspective of possible implementation of these materials in the field of quantum computers and quantum communications makes these efforts relevant. The obtained information includes new knowledge about the mechanisms that realize the physical properties of quasi-two-dimensional crystalline compounds with a honeycomb structure of the arrangement of magnetic centers, which are considered carriers of Kitaev magnetism. Among the obtained results, the following attract the most attention: 1. The quasi-critical behavior of the phonon system with the replacement of sodium by lithium in the (Na1-xLix)2IrO3 system was revealed, which leads to a significant variation of the spin correlations. 2. For the first time, intense quasielastic scattering of magnetic nature was observed and analyzed in the spectra of samples of the (Na1−xLix)2IrO3 system. The anomalous temperature evolution of this type of scattering indicates the thermal fractionation of spins into fermionic excitations. 3. For the first time, a low-frequency continuum was observed in the YX spectra of the Li-doped (Na0.9Li0.1)2IrO3 sample, which corresponds to the theoretical expectations regarding the Kitaev spin liquid. The temperature dependence of this scattering is observed in a wide temperature range, compared to the temperature of magnetic ordering, which indicates the frustration of magnetic interactions. 4. It was established that short-lived spin-spin interactions in (Li1-xNax)2IrO3 are extremely stable against thermal fluctuations. For the first time, the presence of high-frequency broad bands of two-magnon nature in the Raman spectra, which persist in the spectra up to room temperature, was observed. The magnetic nature of these excitations has been proved due to the temperature behavior . Product Description popup.authors popup.nrat_date 2023-03-02 Close
