Registration Date 02-03-2023 Organization M.M. Gryshka National Botanical Garden NAS of Ukraine popup.description2 Report on the GDR: 109 pp., 15 tables, 54 figures, 107 literary sources (including Latin 63), appendix. The purpose of the work is to use the potential of highly adaptive genotypes of sugar sorghum as the basis for the production of liquid biofuels and to improve the technology for obtaining biobutanol using a new strain-producer for the fermentation of second-generation phytoraw materials. The subject of the research is highly adaptive forms and varieties of sugar sorghum (Sorghum saccharatum (L.) Moench) of our own selection and new producer strains and the technology of obtaining biobutanol. Research methods: general scientific and special methods. A collection of sugar sorghum genotypes was created on the basis of the original and mobilized global varietal potential (about 100 samples) to identify highly productive plant forms as a source of biofuel. The biological and technological properties of biomass as an energy raw material of the second generation for conveyor support for the production of alternative liquid fuels have been established. With the use of modern introduction, selection and biotechnological methods, the most valuable genotypes were created and selected as initial forms (14 samples). Highly adaptive varieties with increased sugar content ('Energodar', 'Botanical' and Sorgodar') were bred. The sugar composition of the juice was determined and their suitability for fermentation into components of liquid fuels (biobutanol) was analyzed. A new biobutanol-producing strain with increased conversion for fermentation of sorghum substrate was selected by directed selection, which made it possible to improve the technology of biobutanol production. Quantitative and qualitative assessment of productive indicators of selected genotypes of plants based on the yield of main and by-products was carried out. 5 scientific works have been published (including 2 articles in international professional journals).
