The object of the work is to improve the properties and increase the effectiveness of use of synthetic bone substitutes based on bioactive ceramics due to synergistic effects when combining different types and purposeful alloying of such ceramics. Research methods - chemical, physico-chemical, X-ray and mechanical methods, electronic spectra, optical and IR spectroscopy, electron and optical microscopy, EPR, NMR, biological tests in vitro and in vivo, clinical studies. Research results – mastered and improved processes of synthesis and alloying of all types of bioactive ceramics and glasses, revealed and realized synergistic effects in their combination, investigated properties and nanostructure of chemically synthesized glasses, proposed compositions useful for local drug delivery. Biological properties of synthesized materials has been studying in vitro. Effectiveness of the developed materials for bone tissue remodeling has been proven in vivo and in clinical applications. Recommendations for the use of the results of the work - the application of the obtained results can significantly expand the range of use of bioactive ceramics, including for concomitant diseases and polytraumas, as well as to create new systems of local drug delivery. Predictive assumptions regarding the development of research objects - increasing of use and R&D of such materials are obligatory necessary for the improvement of bone surgery and treatment of accompanying bone and other diseases.
