In conditions of global and national economic and political turbulence, strategic orientations are becoming increasingly blurred. Therefore, the task of economic theory is to find out the economic content of these contradictory processes, on the basis of which it is possible to develop a scientifically based economic policy. The purpose of the work is to study the theoretical problems of the national transitive economic system development and the main principles of economic policy capable of inducing progressive changes in the system. Chapter 1 is devoted to the analysis of economic development in the era of "digital capitalism". Chapter 2 examines the theoretical foundations of the managed development model, the transformation of the society class structure, changes in the global economy and their consequences for the national economic system. Chapter 3 is dedicated to clarifying the essence, genesis and content of the state's economic policy. Chapter 4 analyzes the formation of the industrial cycle under the influence of globalization and the new model of economic development. Chapter 5 explores the possibilities and limits of forming a model based on the role of investment demand in ensuring sustainable economic growth. Chapter 6 is devoted to market transformation and the role of public administration in this process. Chapter 7 examines the theory of dependent capitalism and its specificity for Ukraine. Chapter 8 analyzes the nature of state influence on the economic relations formation in Ukraine. Chapter 9 is devoted to consideration of the globalization influence on economic development of regions. The scientific results of the conducted work are aimed at the development of the theory of transitive economy and justification of the economic policy aimed at the development and modernization of the economy of Ukraine.
