Identifying high nature-value domains and ecosystems for their preservation was carried out in the Ukrainian Carpathians, Precarpathia, Transcarpathian Plain, Opillia, Roztochchya and Polissia. It was established that the soil cover of river floodplains is dominated by alluvial turf, alluvial meadow-brown earth and alluvial swamp soils. It was found that the system's stability for wetlands is determined by accumulating these products, particularly in a slightly decomposed form, which also ensures the relative balance of the detrital component. Descriptions of the rare vegetation of the habitats of cold, stiff water springs with travertine formations (7220 of the Natura-2000 list) belonging to the Cratoneuriuon-related unions have been carried out. The chemical composition of the water of three brackish springs with travertine formations was studied. It was established that the water in all sources is calcium-magnesium-hydrocarbon of high hardness, which is one of the main prerequisites for forming travertine deposits. The "Concept for the management of water bodies in the conditions of reorganization of activities in the exclusion zone, management of the biosphere reserve and special use zone" was put into effect to restore wetlands in the Chornobyl exclusion zone. Summarised field materials on the distribution of a rare bird species of the floodplain complexes of Ukraine, Gallinago media, in the Western Polissia region, in the Pripyat Valley and its tributaries. The influence of anthropogenic factors on the nesting success of the black stork Ciconia nigra in the Western Polissia of Ukraine was studied. The ten main reasons for the collapse of black stork nests have been identified and described.  Product Description popup.authors Bokotey Andriy A. Dziubenko Nataliia V. Orlov Oleg L.
