The purpose of the study is a comparative analysis of the main channels of influence of small business on the economic development of the country, justification of institutional and financial and economic mechanisms of effective use of the potential of small business to strengthen its role in ensuring economic growth. Abstract-logical and analytical methods, graphic methods, comparative and structural-dynamic analysis, economic-mathematical methods, methods of systemic and correlation-regression analysis, etc. are used in the research process. The scientific novelty of the study consists in the deepening of theoretical ideas, the methodology of analysis and the justification of scientific and practical recommendations for the formation and implementation of small business development policy, the improvement of the analytical tools of research in the real sector of the economy, the improvement of the efficiency of the activities of small business enterprises, the transformation of macroeconomic and institutional factors of their development, in particular in the field of agriculture. The proposed recommendations are aimed at forming an effective policy of comprehensive changes in the sphere of small business functioning in the conditions of instability of the Ukrainian economy. Based on the results of the NDR on the topic "Impact of small business (SM) on the economy of Ukraine: a comparative analysis", 4 articles were published in professional publications and abstracts of two international conferences, and 2 scientific seminars were held.
