Pisarzhevskii Institute Of Physical Chemistry of The National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine popup.description2  The objects of research are nanostructured samples of titanates of the perovskite type based on a number of metal ions (Cr3+, Sr2+, Ba2+, La3+, Fe3+, Co2+), mixed oxide systems based on titanium dioxide and manganese and bismuth oxides, mesoporous TiO2, nanosized tungsten oxide, crystalline carbon nitride and products of its acid treatment and modification with magnesium chloride, "photocatalyst/gas mixture" systems containing samples of the specified photocatalysts fixed on carriers, nitrogen oxides (mixture of NO and NO2). The purpose of the work is the development of the physico-chemical principles of the creation of new nanostructured materials based on semiconductor nanoparticles modified with narrow-band semiconductors and metallic and non-metallic nanostructures together with additives of metal oxide matrices and the development of environmentally friendly catalysts for the photoconversion of nitrogen oxides based on them, which can be used in technological purification processes air and possible other gas-phase pollutants of the environment. Research methods and equipment – X-ray phase analysis, nitrogen adsorption-desorption research, spectral methods (absorption and diffuse reflection in the ultraviolet and visible parts of the spectrum), raster electron microscopy, transmission electron microscopy, chronoamperometry. The physicochemical principles of creating new photocatalytic systems based on nanostructured semiconductor materials are developed, as well as some technological aspects of their application to solve the problems of gas-phase neutralization of nitrogen oxides to environmentally safe compounds are considered.
