The purpose of the research work is to substantiate the scientific and methodological approaches to the completion of dissertation work by graduate students on the basis of academic integrity in the conditions of higher education reform in Ukraine. Research methods. The following methods were used to solve the problems and achieve the goal of the research: theoretical generalization and historical, analysis and synthesis, modeling, abstract-logical, systematic and comparative analysis, induction and deduction, graphic. The peculiarities of the organization of scientific activity in Ukraine are determined. The levels and degrees of higher education in Ukraine were studied. The expediency of recognizing the degree of higher education "Doctor of Philosophy" as a scientific degree has been proven. The role of scientific schools in the process of conducting scientific research by graduate students is determined. Scientific and methodical approaches to dissertation work by graduate students have been developed. Proposals have been submitted regarding the establishment of the maximum and minimum volumes of the main text of the dissertation, the formation, proof and refutation of hypotheses and theses in scientific research, the use of professional terminology. Emphasis is placed on the obligation to observe the principles of academic integrity when completing the dissertation work. Methodical approaches to the detection of academic plagiarism and the consequences of its presence in the dissertation are outlined. The requirements for publications of PhD degree holders have been analyzed. It is proposed to prescribe requirements for approval of the results of the dissertation in practical activities, at scientific and practical conferences, congresses, and symposia.
