The purpose of the research is develop the fundamental principles of obtaining and studying the deformation processes of aluminum alloys for elevated temperatures application. Research methods are microhardness measurements, mechanical tensile tests, tribological tests, scanning and transmission electron microscopy, Xray diffraction analysis. Optimal chemical compositions of Al-Fe-Cr alloys with microalloying by number of transition metals are selected. These alloys are aluminum matrix composites in which the solid aluminum solution is reinforced with nanosized particles of quasicrystals and / or intermetallics. It is proved that due to the fact that nanostructured quasicrystals, in contrast to coarse-grained, have some plasticity at room temperature, the nanoquasicrystals are well applicable for strengthening of aluminomatrix composites for a operation at temperatures up to 300 °C.
