The purpose of the work is to identify, classify, publish and study the informative potential of written sources from the history of Steppe Ukraine of the XVIII - beginning of the XXІ centuries. Research methods – analysis and synthesis, heuristics, historical-comparative, historical-typological, retrospective, classification, external and internal criticism of sources and others. A representative complex of sources from the history of Steppe Ukraine of the XVIII - beginning of the XXІ centuries was analyzed. and a representative array of oral history sources has been updated. The role and place of oral historical sources and photographic sources in the process of learning socio-historical issues are rethought, and the directions of mnemonic flows and images of the population of the steppe region regarding the crisis phenomena of the ХХ-XXІ centuries are determined. The results of the research were implemented in the educational process at the department of source studies, historiography and special historical disciplines - in the improvement and updating of the course of lectures on the disciplines "Special historical disciplines", "Archival studies", "Source studies", "Historical regional studies", "New sources and methods of source studies" "; in the preparation of 6 bachelor's qualification papers and 11 master's qualification papers. According to the results of the NDR, a total of 37 publications were prepared for publication (2 monographs, 3 archeographic publications, 31 articles, 1 abstract of a report).
