Registration Date 28-03-2023 Organization V.N. Karazin Kharkiv National University popup.description2  A comprehensive characterization of immune rearrangements, cytokine and MCP-1 levels, the state of lipid peroxidation and the antioxidant system was provided, and their role as predictors of the course and consequences of types 3 and 4 herpesvirus infections was established. The result of complex clinical, laboratory, immunological and serological studies was new ideas about the participation and role of the immune system in the pathogenesis and consequences of herpes infection associated with HIV infection. For the first time, herpesvirus infection of the skin caused by herpes simplex virus type 1 (HSV-1), herpes simplex virus type 2 (HSV-2), herpes virus type 3 (HSV-3), Epstein-Barr virus (EBV) and human herpes virus of the eighth type (HCV-8) in combination with HIV infection, complex immunological studies were carried out, which revealed violations of cellular and humoral links, production of cytokines (in particular, IL-31), a decrease in the level of CD4+ cells. For the first time, a classification function of CD4+ cell levels was developed, which allows predicting the course of herpesvirus infections in HIV patients and enables a clear gradation between the clinical stages of HIV infection. It has been established that to increase the effectiveness of antiviral therapy of herpesvirus diseases in combination with HAART in HIV-infected persons, it is appropriate to use means of antioxidant and immunomodulatory action as part of etiotropic and pathogenetic therapy. The obtained results can be used in the educational process in higher medical institutions, as well as in the practical work of infectionists, general practitioners-family medicine, immunologists.
