The aim of the work is to create a design and theoretical apparatus for designing effective large-sized combined pile and slab foundations, taking into account the development of new design solutions for foundations, methods and methods of their calculation and modeling in the system "base - foundation - structure" ("BFS"), methods of testing soils and comprehensive experimental justification. Research methods: analysis of normative and literary sources, scientific and technical achievements; analytical research using the methods of the theory of elasticity and plasticity; full-scale experiment method; geodetic methods of monitoring the subsidence of buildings; numerical method of finite elements for modeling the stress-strain state of the "BFS" system; comparative analysis of the results of mathematical modeling and field experiments. Analyzed regulatory documents and scientific work on the studied field of science and technology. A patent search for structures and methods of installation of combined pile-raft foundations was carried out. Experimentally proved the absence of the inclusion in the work of the slab grillage of a large-sized pile-raft foundation with minor relative sediments of the soil base with the help of automated instrumental monitoring of the system "soil base – pile-raft foundation" of the construction object. The design of the combined raft-pile foundation (CRPF), in which there is no connection between the piles and the slab, has been improved, patented and investigated for the actual inclusion of the slab part of the foundation.
