The aim of this work is to study the regularities of the process of concentration of aqueous solutions of low-volatile liquids by evaporation from their flowing film into a cross-flow of neutral gas and to develop, on the basis of these studies, the design and calculation methodology for a film concentrator for such solutions. The subject of research. Concentration of aqueous solutions of low-volatile liquids in a flowing film by evaporation into a cross-flow of neutral gas. Research methods. Theoretical studies were carried out using the method of mathematical modeling. In experimental studies, physical modeling methods were used with the application of similarity theory and statistical processing of experimental data. The input and output parameters of the studied processes in the experimental setup were determined by gauge, thermometric, and volumetric measurement methods. Based on the research conducted, the following results were obtained: - A mathematical model of the process of concentration of an aqueous solution of a low-volatility liquid in a film flowing from a vertical wall under evaporation into a cross-flow of neutral gas was developed, which allowed us to establish the laws of change in the composition of the film solution in height; - It has been shown that the change in the concentration of an aqueous solution of a low-volatility liquid along the length of the film when it is concentrated by evaporation into a cross-flow of neutral gas is related to the temperature distribution along the length of the film. - The regularities of reducing the width of a liquid film flowing down from a flat heated surface were established.
