Registration Date 06-04-2023 Organization Chuiko Institute of Surface Chemistry of NAS of Ukraine popup.description2  The goal of the project is the synthesis of composite magnetically controlled micro- and nanoparticles of the "core-shell" type using magnetite, cobalt ferrite or nickel as a magnetosensitive core with controlled particle sizes and different morphology, the surface of which is covered with a layer of gold/silver for the development of the latest biosensor aimed at detection of pathogens of tuberculosis and anthrax. The key requirements for the synthesis method of MNPs are simplicity, low cost and reproducibility. The project aims to develop a low-cost, easy-to-use analysis method that allows the identification of the causative agents of tuberculosis and anthrax in biosamples of living organisms in a matter of minutes to facilitate their treatment in a short time. The sensor will be based on the detection and capture by magnetically guided nanoparticles of pathogen-specific DNA sequences that have been isolated from bacteria by direct microwave ablation. After capturing the target DNA, the magnetically sensitive nanoparticles are removed from the sample using a magnet. This approach allows you to concentrate and wash the target DNA for further processing. At this stage of the work, the optimal conditions and methods of synthesis were selected for obtaining magnetic nanoparticles covered with a layer of gold or silver, with a controlled phase composition and size.
