In the context of the large-scale armed aggression of the Russian Federation against Ukraine, legal support of law enforcement activities in the Armed Forces matters a tremendous importance. Currently, this issue is gaining new importance and the need for scientific analysis, as the State is implementing the processes of reforming the national security and defence sector, the AF of Ukraine, other military units and law enforcement bodies of the State. The actuality of the presented research work is further enhanced by the need to achieve maximum interoperability of the components of the security and defence sector of Ukraine with the relevant authorities of the NATO member states and the European Union by implementing the principles and standards of law enforcement activities of military formations of foreign states. Thus, this leads to the institutional modernization of the law enforcement bodies of the AF of Ukraine, taking into account the existing capabilities and implementation of international experience of law enforcement in military units of Ukraine. The object of research is the public relations arising in the field of law enforcement activities in the AF of Ukraine. The subject of the research is law enforcement activities in the AF of Ukraine, the current status and prospects of development. The aim of the research work is to develop proposals to regulations for effective law enforcement in the military units of Ukraine based on the analysis of the organizational and legal support of the system of law enforcement bodies of the leading countries of the world. The aim of the research led to the following issues and objectives: analyze the system of law enforcement bodies in the military units of NATO member states and other countries; consider foreign experience in organizing law and order in military units of foreign states; provide proposals for further development of law enforcement activities in the military units of Ukraine.
