I. Mechnikov National University popup.description2  Methodology for calculating of budgets of nutrients compounds in the Dniester basin has been developed. The priorities of certain components of the nitrogen balances in river systems were determined. A program of field studies of eutrophication processes and the state of natural resources of the Dniester delta was developed and implemented. and estimation of flows of nutrients compounds into the aquatic ecosystem. For the first time, the flows of biogenic compounds from the atmosphere in the Dniester basin as a whole have been determined experimentally. The seasonal course of the main physicochemical characteristics and biogenic compounds in Lake Bile and in the pilot area of the Dniester estuary in 2021 was analyzed. The current state and quality of water resources in the Dniester delta was assessed. The results of conducted research on fish resources and long-term changes in aquatic vegetation are given. An analysis of the impact of agro-industrial activity in the Lower Dniester basin and an assessment of the accumulation of biogenic and heavy metals by aquatic vegetation was carried out, as well as the characteristics of secondary pollution of the aquatic environment from biogenic and toxic substances accumulated in bottom sediments were determined. On the basis of the developed biogeochemical cycle, the nitrogen budget was compiled for the first time in the Dniester basin and in its deltaic part. Practical recommendations have been developed for improving procedures for managing of the water environment quality in the Dniester basin and its deltaic part.
