The purpose of the research work is to study the modernization of the bioreactor with immobilization on inert carriers of microorganisms. The subject of research is the influence of hydrodynamics on the process of mass exchange in a bioreactor. Thanks to the use of a peristatic dosing pump, the flow rate of the substrate changed, thereby changing the speed in the channels of the bioreactor. In the experiments, the thickness of the biofilm changed and, because of this, the width of the channel along which the substrate flow moved changed accordingly. Experimental and practical studies of the influence of hydrodynamics on the mass transfer process were carried out in a bioreactor designed for wastewater treatment with microorganisms immobilized on inert carriers. They were implemented in the educational laboratory of heat and mass transfer processes at the Department of Biotechnology and Engineering of the Faculty of Biotechnology and Biotechnology of the National Technical University of Ukraine "Ihor Sikorsky Kyiv Polytechnic Institute" (Ukraine).
