Research methods - the finite element method (FEM) is used for numerical analysis in the work; physical experiment. The functional capabilities of conductive electric current treatment of the silumin melt using multi-electrode systems for homogenization and degassing of the melt are formulated. Electromagnetic and hydrodynamic processes during simultaneous treatment of the melt with different types of currents in a four-electrode system were investigated by means of a numerical experiment. The characteristics of the resulting electromagnetic field resulting from the superposition of the fields generated in the melt by each of the currents were obtained. It was determined that the magnetic intensity (from 350 to 600 A/m) and the time-space distribution in the melt volume of the resulting field depend significantly on the type of currents supplied to the electrodes. The most appropriate combinations of currents (rectified and pulsed) have been identified, which increase the flow rate by almost 6.5 times, and the geometric arrangement of the electrodes in the container with the melt, which provides an increase in the flow rate up to 2 times. The results of the conducted test experiments proved the prospects of using conductive electric current processing with a four-electrode current supply system in the development of innovative technological processes for foundry production, which will ensure high quality indicators of castings Product Description popup.authors Ivanov Artem V.
