For the structural and physical structures of power transformers of various types, dimensions, voltage and power classes, sets of 3D geometric models have been generated that detail reflect the multi-component structural design of power transformers, their active parts and systems, taking into account the type and contours of the transformer cooling system. The specified structures are supplemented by sets of physical properties with mathematical descriptions of the nonlinear characteristics of active and structural materials, solid and liquid dielectrics of the insulation system, and liquid and gaseous cooling medium. On the data arrays with the results of field calculations developed a "digital shadow" of the power transformer for a certain load mode, switching and emergency modes, which will allow us to determine the location of places with a significant electromagnetic, temperature and mechanical loads and the location of possible damage. By means of artificial intelligence, diagnostics and monitoring, field modeling the “digital twins" of existing power transformers, that considers the entire period of its operation, have been developed. The scientific, theoretical and methodological foundations for the synthesis of highly efficient technical solutions have been developed for a significant extension of service life of power transformers beyond the standard term and ensuring a high level of reliability in operation. Based on virtual research on "digital twins" of the existing electrical equipment, technical and organizational measures have been developed for the maintenance and additional ongoing repairs be request to ensure reliable operation of power transformers beyond the standard term.
