The object of research is public relations in the field of implementation of criminal procedural procedures The purpose of the work is to determine the areas of improvement of criminal procedural legislation and correction of law enforcement practice in order to optimize the mechanisms for ensuring human rights in the context of the global challenges of today. Research methods are a complex of general scientific and special methods of scientific knowledge. As a result of the conducted research, the following tasks were completed: an analysis of legislative trends of recent years through the prism of ensuring human rights and freedoms in the field of criminal proceedings was carried out; monitoring of the ECSC practice was carried out in order to identify the most sensitive areas; the issue of ensuring human rights in the criminal process in the context of general digitalization is investigated; a comparative and legal analysis of the provision of the right to a fair trial was carried out in the implementation of remote judicial proceedings, the need for which was actualized during the COVID-2019 pandemic; a comprehensive study of ensuring the rights of persons suffering from mental disorders and in respect of whom criminal proceedings are being conducted; an analysis of compliance with the principles of bioethics in the criminal process was carried out; the key problems related to the specifics of obtaining and using samples of human biological materials in the investigation of criminal offenses and the storage of such materials after the completion of the investigation and trial have been identified and analyzed; a study of certain aspects of the fight against organized crime was conducted; the issue of conducting criminal proceedings under martial law was analyzed.
