The purpose of the study is to develop and implement, with experimental verification, a system for forming the professional identity of future specialists in physical therapy, occupational therapy in institutions of higher education. The scientific novelty of the obtained results is that for the first time for future specialists in physical therapy, occupational therapy in institutions of higher education: - the theoretical and methodical principles of professional identity formation are scientifically substantiated; - a professional identity formation system was developed and experimentally tested, which includes: the author's concept of professional identity formation; the system model, which consists of target, theoretical-methodological, content, procedural and criterion-diagnostic blocks; pedagogical conditions at the level of higher education in accordance with the peculiarities of rehabilitation activities in the field of physical therapy; integration in the educational process of modular learning technologies, problem-oriented learning, team-oriented learning, learning based on solving situational tasks, project-oriented learning and information and communication technologies; organization of non-formal education; development of creative potential and professional skills in the process of conducting clinical practices) and educational and methodological support; - the author's definition of concepts is proposed; - the structural components of the professional identity were clarified; criteria, indicators and levels of formation of professional identity.
