The subject of research is the dependence of the reliability of the results obtained in calculating the required number of inspectors of emergency prevention units on the characteristics of the territorial unit of the SES of Ukraine. The purpose of the study is to establish the reliability of the results of calculating the required number of inspectors of disaster prevention units. Scientific research was conducted using the analytical method, probabilistic methods, the method of statistical data analysis using the Grubbs criterion, and the method of expert assessments. The paper verifies the reliability of the results of calculating the required staffing level of the inspectors of the disaster prevention units of the SES of Ukraine, as set out in the draft Methodological Recommendations for Determining the Required Staffing Level of the Inspectors of the Disaster Prevention Units of the SES of Ukraine. The method used is to assess and further determine the adequate ratio between the number of employees required to fully perform the main tasks assigned to them, in accordance with the provisions of regulatory and legislative acts, and the actual labor costs (workload) required to perform them. Based on the results of the research, a method for determining the normative number of inspectors of supervisory and preventive activities was substantiated, which will help to improve the existing organizational and staffing structures of the State Inspectorate of Technological Safety of Ukraine and other supervisory structures in the field of civil protection, as set out in the draft Methodological Recommendations for determining the required staffing of the inspectorate of the emergency prevention units of the SES of Ukraine.
