The purpose of the work is to ensure the improvement of operational qualities, energy saving and resource of piston engines based on implementation the latest constructive solutions and technologies for organizing the work process, implementation of the latest constructive solutions and promising types fuel Research methods - calculation and experimental, with using modern research and laboratory equipment, complex software tools for mathematical analysis and calculations. Conclusions and recommendations are made on the basis of the conducted research regarding the improvement of operational qualities of transport engines, proposed methods of research and calculation of their indicator and effective performance indicators, gas distribution mechanism, choice of method diagnostics.
