The subject of the study was changes in the socio-economic sphere of Ukraine in the second half of the 19th century - the beginning of 20th century The purpose of the proposed comprehensive study was the study of modernization processes in the socio-economic sphere. In connection with the specifics of the subject, significant attention was paid by the employees to interdisciplinary methods related to both sociology and economic knowledge. With partially limited access to sources (due to the epidemiological and military situation), considerable attention was paid to content analysis for processing periodical, reference-statistical, epistolary sources. The social and economic component of the past of the Ukrainian people significantly influenced the formation of national mentalities and differences in the development of the Ukrainian ethnos from the Russian one. It is from the second half of the 19th century. a number of socio-economic and socio-political changes took place on the territory of Ukraine, which contributed to the birth of civil society and the emergence of national identity. Analyzing socio-economic transformations in Ukraine in the second half of the 19th and early 20th centuries. an urgent task became the study and development of issues related to the emergence of new socio-economic processes. The results of the study will help state authorities to pragmatically implement a balanced general picture of the processes of socio-economic reconstruction in Ukraine, by searching for new management models and mechanisms of interaction with the population, and will be used primarily in the creation of synthetic works on the history of Ukraine. According to the research results, 3 individual monographs, 2 co-authored monographs, 2 collections of scientific works, 2 collections of theses of scientific forums, 75 scientific articles were published. The total volume of published products based on the results of the topic is 314.67 sheets
