The purpose of the first stage of the scientific work is the research and analysis of the essential characteristics of the process of political transformation, as well as the study of problems related to the theoretical and methodological foundations of political transformation in the political sphere of Ukrainian society, and the determination of the main potential directions of further changes. The relevance of the study is determined by the fact that in the independent states that were formed after the collapse of the USSR, modernization processes are currently not completed and are carried out according to different models. The political system of Ukraine is being modernized according to the reflected (borrowed) model, which involves orientation towards the liberal-democratic vector of development. The peculiarity of the modern stage of development of Ukraine is that not so much civil society plays the role of the founder of the state, as the state itself acts as an instrument of its own transformation and formation of civil society. The political transformation of Ukrainian society, and with it the reform of the political system of Ukrainian society in recent years has become a priority area of activity of both authorities and public-political associations. It is about improving relations at the level of the legislative, executive and judicial branches of power in the direction of strengthening the democratic foundations of their functioning and development.
