The object of research is observation wells, groundwater, suitability of wells for observation. The goal of the research work is the application of scientifically based decisions regarding the placement and selection of structures of observation wells, which will provide reliable data in the process of observations within the framework of radio-hydroecological monitoring. The research method is the development of scientifically based recommendations for the creation of new observation wells using the analysis and forecasts of changes in radio-hydroecological conditions, the development of project solutions and scientific engineering support for the drilling of new observation wells. The work was carried out at the Chernobyl NPP industrial site near the Liquid Waste Storage Facility, the Solid Waste Storage Facility, the Liquid Radioactive Waste Processing Plant and near the main building of the first stage of the Chernobyl NPP in the area where the 2nd unit of the Chernobyl Nuclear Power Plant is located. As of August - November 2022, in the area where the new wells are located, the depth of the groundwater level was 6.66 m (Well C-13B) to 8.33 m (Well C-27A), depending on the hypsometry of the earth's surface and seasonal fluctuations of groundwater level depth. At the same time, the marks ranged from 107, 86 to 108.4 m The complex of works included: analysis of hydrogeological conditions, mathematical modeling, substantiation of the placement and construction of observation wells, development of geological and technical equipment for drilling, actual support for drilling and installation (documentation of processes, quality control), selection and laboratory analyzes of water samples, and development of passports for new observation wells.
